ABOUT

I’m Katlyn, a Houston-based designer and architect.

I am driven by my passion for design and strive to challenge myself to learn new skills and knowledge. Helping others through empathy, collaboration, and creativity has always been at the forefront of my focus. Currently, I am furthering my skills by taking the Google UX course and actively building my UX portfolio. I am eager to learn and contribute to an environment that enables me to use my skills and abilities to make a positive impact.

These words reflect how I describe myself transitioning from architecture into user experience design -

"I have seven years of experience in the world of design. I worked as an architectural designer and saw myself visualizing spaces and how it might flow and impact the end user. If a design does not work, there is a need to improve it. This means providing people with better means of usability and satisfaction. Architecture is beautiful but also needs to function and serve its users for the long run. Creating better designs in UX reminds me a lot of creating great environments in architecture."
